The Champion 覇者 (Hasha) is TOKAIDO's most popular Special (Yohachi) black belt. Made with a non-woven fabric (不織布) core and covered with an outer layer of special high grade cotton. Sewn with 11 rows of reinforced stitching for resilience and a beautiful finish. Available in standard and extra width. For EXTRA WIDTH belts choose one size longer so that the embroidery will not be lost in the knot when tied. Designed for strength and long durability.
Custom Embroidery
Tokaido Japan provides the highest quality embroidery in Japanese or English. No company can surpass the level of embroidery perfected by Tokaido.
The secret in the manufacturing of our belts is that the parts are cut and embroidered separately before being assembled and sewn together. This is the reason why they are so strong, neat and beautifully finished. The embroidery will not show through on the reverse side. This is the hallmark of a true, Made in Japan - Tokaido Black Belt.
In TOKAIDO’s continuing commitment to quality and customer service we have decided to add 3 font options for our black belt embroidery. Below from left to right we are offering:
Left Choice 昇龍 translated as “Rising Dragon”. (Default font)
Middle Choice 太行書 translated as “Bold Cursive”.
Right Choice 龍神 translated as “Dragon God”.
Each kanji font has it’s own character with the Left Choice described as crisp and clear, the Middle Choice characterized as strong and bold, and the Right Choice as sophisticated and detailed. TOKAIDO is happy to provide this choice and we hope you will appreciate these new options.
Please note: the Left Choice 昇龍 “Rising Dragon” is the default font and will be used if neither of the other two are chosen.
You may choose to embroider your style name and/or your personal name. For Japanese text, please select from the pop up menus by clicking on the Kanji Style Names or the Names in Japanese Katakana below the field that you desire. If your Style or Name is not in the menu then use this Google Translate link https://translate.google.com/#en/ja/ to CREATE and then COPY and PASTE into the field(s) you desire. We will confirm that the translation is correct before production. If you prefer English/Roman letters, then type directly in the field(s) of your choice.
Production Time
As with all black belts that are made in Japan by Tokaido Japan, each one is made as it is ordered. This way we can ensure that you receive the best kuroobi possible. Currently un-embroidered belts require 3 weeks and embroidered belts require 6 weeks.

belt is of very good quality

My Tokaido belt is of very good quality. The embroidery is nice and you have the impression that someone wrote it with a brush not with a needle. The problem is the unsightly arrangement of embroidery with respect to the belt's ends, ie. on the side of the label it is placed higher than on the other. Of course, you can cut the end to the right height, but is that what it's all about?...
TOKAIDO Note: Thank you for your review and question. Generally, a belt made in Japan will have the embroidery in different placement on the ends due to number of kanji/katakana and the label placement. This is a common practice of all Japanese black belt makers and considered standard by customers in Japan. We do try and balance as much as is possible and can accommodate special requests to a certain degree.

The quality of this belt is very good the yellow gold really stands out the one I bought is 45mm wide so you need to buy one size up from your normal belt the satan finish is the best for wear as I had a silk one years ago and came aparts quite quickly turned almost white .
Great company to deal with if you are willing to wait 5 weeks for the belt. It is worth the wait.

This is my new Tokaido belt of the same model after 15 Years. I ordered with Extra Width which allows larger embroidery of my name and style in Kanji. The workmanship of the belt and embroidery are excellent. It was worth the wait for 5 weeks.
