Product Description
The TSA Original kata do-gi is the original heavyweight uniform that was developed through extensive research and consultation with competitors of many styles and organizations to provide what is known worldwide as the Ultimate uniform. The TSA Original utilizes the strongest and heaviest no 10, 12 oz cotton canvas designed to endure the hardest wear to last. The heavier weight drapery folds enhance the distinctive “snap” sound made when doing techniques. This highest grade of cotton canvas provides twice the tensile strength and 20% more friction resistance for strong durability. Multiple stitches, reinforced seams and an extra wide and heavy skirt seam for extra strength. Cotton is the original wicking material that will keep moisture away from the body.

The uniform will shrink 2.2% in length and 1.8% in width.
Custom Embroidery
Tokaido Japan provides the highest quality embroidery in Japanese or English. No company can surpass the level of embroidery perfected by Tokaido. You may choose to embroider your style name and/or your personal name in the general locations designated in the uniform graphic. For Japanese text, please select from the pop up menus by clicking on the Kanji Style Names or the Names in Japanese Katakana below the field that you desire and then click on your choice. If your Style or Name is not in the menu then use this Google Translate link https://translate.google.com/#en/ja/ to CREATE and then COPY and PASTE into the field(s) you desire. We will confirm that the translation is correct before production. If you prefer English/Roman letters, then type directly in the field(s) of your choice.
Production Time
As with all uniforms that are made in Japan by Tokaido Japan, each uniform is made as it is ordered. This way we can ensure that you receive the best uniform possible. Currently all uniforms require 10 weeks for production.

Tokaido has always been the benchmark. Great fit and not a stitch out of place. Highly recommend! "The Ultimate" is my favorite Tokaido Dogi.

Great dogi for Winter trainings

The TSA Ultimate arrived in mint condition. It was a default size 6 (180cms), not customized except for an embroidery that came out perfect.
The Jacket suits perfectly, with the sleeves a bit shorter (as I prefer). The sleeves are not too broad (contrary to eg: Kata Master suit), the Jacket skirt is not too long and and the strings have the perfect size. It is a heavy jacket, gets quite warm and advisable for colder weather or winter trainings.
The trousers were a bit too long for my taste and also too broad (wide sideways). It is a loud jacket, perhaps the loudest I have compared to other brands (even other Tokaido suits).
This suit does not shrink, I'm not sure if it is because of the Japanese cotton (I have other Japanese suit from a different brand and also doesn't shrink), but I tried shrinking the trousers 2 times, it didn't budge an inch (will have to customize them afterwards).
All in all, it's a great quality product. Does not shrink like the European Tokaido cotton models (they shrink a lot) and it's made to last. If you want that snap sound during a Kata or a durable dogi for winter trainings, you can't miss with this one. I strongly advise you to customize the size to fit you perfectly.

I buy all my Do-Gi with Tokaido since 1993. Excellent Quality that last a decade whilst training several times a week.
I recommend TSA Original and Yakudo TSA.

Quality

These products are quite expensive and there is a significant production time, but there is a reason and it is worth it for those who can afford them and wait. The production quality is outstanding, the fabric is bullet proof, and if cared for they last a very long time. I have been wearing Tokaido gi for 30 years and I still have components of my original gi to this day! I just received my new gi (fit is perfect) and have not trained with it yet, but I anticipate the same longevity this time.
